CNC Machinist This person will be responsible for machining parts from engineered drawings and rough sketches (work from a set up sheet/3-d modeling diagrams). they will be responsible for the set up and operation of CNC and other relevant machining equipment (mills, lathes etc). Equipment will include, but is not limited to both 3 and 5 Axis equipment, thermwood CNC router. This person will be working hand in hand with the engineer to address manufacturing issues and turn around problems quickly. ideally a classically trained journeymen that is highly skilled at CNC machining (set up, editing, operating). This person needs to be able to understand G-code and programming to be able to search a program find a line where there is a mistake and make the necessary correction (i.e. adjust for available tool vs. what is accounted for in the program or drawing). they need to be able to operate and function speeds and feeds on the machine. Additional Job Info: Someone who is just a machine operator will not work. They need someone with demonstrated expertise in this field. This is a fast paced environment that requires someone to be active in the manufacturing effectiveness. there will be no one to bail this person out so they need to be able to make decisions and impact this position positively the very first day. when necessary they may require this person to come in on off hours to help with emergencies. so the need to be flexible. this is a new manufacturing environment and it is an opportunity to grow with the company and get in the door at a good time with opportunity to move up. they are looking for 5 + years of experience, but the more the better.
